HARVEST MOON

Welcome to the full moon that brings us to the end of the growing season.

It reaches its maximum fullness Friday morning at 5:58am EST, and is the first full moon following the Autumn equinox, indicating that summer is truly over.

For a few days around this full moon, the moon will rise around the same time each evening, as opposed to a gradual shortening of days.

This illuminates the Earth with moonlight just after sunset providing farmers with extra light to aid in harvesting crops.

To us, it may appear that the moon stays full over several days, and we can enjoy the gorgeous glow of the moonlight in early evening.

My best suggestion is to grab your favorite person, take a few moments to moonbathe, and dance under the light of the moon.
