Is winter really the best time to make a new resolution?

Some feel like spring is a more appropriate time for resolutions than January, but people forget something important -

Spring happens because of all the groundwork done in winter.

Some seeds even require a harsh winter or they will not sprout in spring.

Winter brings nourishment to soil, roots store food and water, and seeds prepare for germination.

If you want the energy to spring forward, you have to winter well.


Lock In

Over the next 40 days, I’m offering a challenge to help you “lock in” better thinking and habits in 2026!

I’ll post a daily message meant to inspire or motivate you. Find it on my site, and on Instagram, Facebook, and Substack.


How to get the most out of this Challenge

  1. Choose one activity or body part that you’d like to work on every day for 40 days. Pair the daily reading with your chosen physical activity. Decide how much you want to invest based on what your goals are. It can be something that takes a long time or as little as 30 seconds.  In the past, people have paired the 40 day challenge with push-ups, sprints, calf raises, legs up the wall, ab workouts, jumping rope, etc. Marrying the mind and body helps integrate changes, and helps you lock-in more quickly. Real change doesn’t come just thinking about doing better. You’ll be amazed at how much you can change a part of your body, and your way of thinking, in 40 days.

  2. Take a before picture, and use these messages to lock in and stay consistent for 40 days.

  3. Write one personal statement from the reading every day for 40 days, and read them all every day.  Soon, you’ll have 40 personal and powerful statements to integrate throughout the year. You can use the daily “I am” statement to get started.

  4. Interact! Let me know how you’re staying locked in.
