APRIL
An Early Spring SurVival Guide
APRIL THEMES:
Emotional repression and expression, honesty, power, identity, and authenticity
Early spring is filled with creation energy!
You may be feeling a pull towards something new.
We are all a little itchy for change, and it’s a good time to check in with yourself to see if your identity, goals, and actions are all well-aligned.
What words stand out most to you?
I will.
Because we want what we want, this time may increase people’s:
awareness of their own frustrations,
expressions of their own anger,
and desires for different personal boundaries.
This may also increase people’s:
intentional use of their own willpower,
awareness around independence and authority figures, and
decisiveness and taking action around important issues in our own lives.
We should begin to feel less wishy-washy than we have recently and ready to take action.

What are you ready to begin? What do you need to begin?
If you’re not sure, get active!
Move your body. Walk. Run. Dance. Martial Arts. Bike.
This is not the time for stagnant energy.
This is the time to move stagnant energy out! (However, use extreme caution with extreme sports.)
keep it under control.
For the rest of April, watch for the impulses to change.
When the energy feels new - especially when the energy feels fast - take your time.
Give yourself the space to feel more in control.
Things change quickly in these conditions.
We / people may find the motivation to start new things without the long-term stamina or desire to complete them.
This is a great time to keep a journal to catch all of the impulses that come through.
WINTER WAKE-UP
We are coming back online after a long winter. We should be reclaiming better energy levels over the next couple of weeks.
If you find that you don’t have the energy that you want during this time, consider eating spicy food more regularly. Peppers, curry, salsa, kimchi, etc. can help boost your metabolism.
On the other hand, if you find that you’re too hot (angry or hot-tempered), look for something cooling such as mint, cucumber, watermelon, citrus, celery, berries, etc.
BE YOUR OWN BEST ADVOCATE
Secure your own oxygen mask first during this time and make sure you are getting your basic needs met.
Help yourself feel accomplished, productive, and active, but guard against carelessness, overt selfishness, and rushing.
Know yourself - including who you want to be - and act accordingly.
Take care as you SPRING FORWARD!
